Sheppey will be hoping to bounce back from last weekend’s heavy defeat when they host Swale rivals Sittingbourne on Saturday.
The Islanders were hammered 46-0 by Kent 1 leaders Dartfordians and head coach Frank Davis is hoping his side can pick themselves up for the derby clash at The Ditch.
Davis’s side, who remain rock bottom in the division, lost 43-6 to Sittingbourne earlier in the season and he’s hoping to show the second-placed side that his side have improved since then.
"That scoreline was flattering as they scored a few late tries and we’re better now than we were then," said Davis. "We’re much more competent, we’ve got more about us and more attacking options.
"It’s a derby and all the form goes out the window. It’s going to be about who gets up for it the most and who wants it more."
Dartfordians ran in eight tries against Sheppey and despite calls from Davis last week for a more disciplined approach they still had two players, Jordan Thompson and Steve Croall, sin-binned.
