Sheppey coach Peter Olliver praised his side’s display as they enhanced their Kent 1 title credentials with a superb win over leaders Ashford.
The Islanders, who have a game in hand over Ashford, enjoyed a comprehensive 20-0 win in a game which doubled-up as a victory in the Kent Vase and means Sheppey will now face a semi-final clash before April 2.
Olliver said: "Our forwards were outstanding. It was the best I’ve ever seen any team play. They set it all up for the backs. Ashford didn’t get a sniff. Ball retention was the key for us.
"The only time they got into our 22 in the entire game was in the last minute when they kicked a penalty for a line-out and we turned it over anyway.
"We knew how dangerous their backs can be but we played solid 12-man rugby didn’t look to get it wide too much, and our forwards steamrollered them. We smashed them in every phase of the game."
He added: "We started well and they fumbled the kick-off and we slid straight in and turned the ball over. It set the tone for the whole game."
Sheppey will look for their seventh straight win, at Whitstable on Saturday, having already beaten them 53-5 in the league and 75-3 in the cup this season.
Olliver said: "We are looking forward to the rest of the season. We will respect every opponent until the end of the season but we are going to be ruthless. We are going to play every game like it’s a cup final."
Chris Champ is unavailable with Matt Cheesbrough set to step in at second row.
