A musician is looking for people to help hit the high notes and raise money for sick tot Oliver Smith.
Jody Bodiam, of Lovell Road, Minster, has come up with the idea to get Sheppey singer/songwriters together to record a fundraising album for the two-year-old, who is battling the childhood cancer neuroblastoma.
His family is aiming to raise £150,000 for treatment he is likely to need in Germany.
Jody is hoping anyone who would be willing to record an acoustic version of one of their own songs will get in touch with him.
Kyle Barton, who runs mobile recording company Stegosaurus Studios, is already on board and will be helping Jody with the project.
Twenty one-year-old Kyle is based in New Road, Sheerness, but has portable equipment which he will be taking to Jody’s house to set up a temporary studio and record the album.
Jody plans to have the recording session over the Bank Holiday weekend later this month.
The 35-year-old said he would like to have at least 12 tracks on the album and once it’s ready to go, he plans to hold a launch night.
He expects to sell the CD for £5 and all money raised will go towards the Oliver Smith Appeal.
Jody is also appealing to anyone who would be willing to help out with printing the CDs and covers.
Dad-of-three Jody said: "Oliver’s is a story that has touched most people on the Island and I think being a parent myself has played a big part.
"There’s so much going on and I wanted to do something slightly different and that people can keep afterwards."
