The next big name to come to the retail park at Neats Court has been revealed by the developers.
LXB Retail Properties has announced that Sports Direct has committed to taking up a 10,000 sq ft space at the Queenborough site.
It is in addition to Poundland, which will have a 7,500 sq ft plot and home furnishings chain B&M, which is set to open a 22,000 sq ft store, and Iceland.
Talks are also ongoing with a number of other firms and Giles Haywood, from LXB, said the interest is good.
Pets at Home is thought to be one of the companies and brewer Marston’s has been confirmed as the tenant for the family pub.
Work on phase two of the £30m development started in November.
Phase one saw Morrisons, a petrol station and a KFC drive-thru open on the Island.
Building frames will start to be seen going up this month and there will be a continual presence of work at the site, off Thomsett Way, until the project is complete – which will hopefully be the middle of this summer.
