A major TV adaptation of The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, written by a famous face from The Fast Show, has been filming scenes on Sheppey.
Charlie Higson posted a picture on Twitter on Tuesday, March 10, of himself with actors Tony Way and Nick Moss, who are wearing period costumes, with a view of marshes in the background.
It was accompanied by the message “Weird scenes on the Isle of Sheppey with @tonypaulway and my chauffeur #jekyllandhyde”.
The ITV Studios production spent three days recording footage for the 10-part action and fantasy series at a farmhouse on Elmley Nature Reserve.
A spokesman for ITV said: “The location fitted the script perfectly.”
Richard E Grant and Strictly Come Dancing’s Natalie Gumede, who is also known for her role as Kirsty Soames on Coronation Street, are set to star.
Mr Higson is known for characters such as playboy car salesman Swiss Tony on popular BBC sketch comedy programme The Fast Show in the 1990s and has also penned several Young James Bond books.
His latest project, inspired by Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel, is set in 1930s London and will tell the story of Robert Jekyll, the grandson of the original doctor. The show will also feature zombies, werewolves and vampires.
Production began in Sri Lanka in January and filming in London will continue until July 2015.
It is expected to be shown on ITV later this year.
