A wealth of memories shared over a cup of tea have formed a new book, which will be launched tomorrow.

The Memory Teas project started last November when AmicusHorizon’s community worker Gill Ransley organised a series of social afternoon meetings at Sheppey’s three housing schemes for older adults.

She collected and recorded residents’ memories, which will feature in the book to be launched with a cream tea gathering.

Youngsters from West Minster and Rose Street primary schools will be serving teas and spend time chatting with the 26 residents who contributed their recollections.

New Mayor of Swale Cllr Alan Willicombe will also attend the launch at the Hope Street Centre in Sheerness.
