Teen injured in ditch crash

A 17-year-old was taken to hospital after his car went into a ditch yesterday (Tuesday) evening.

The accident, involving a black Ford Fiesta, happened along Lower Road, Brambledown, at around 6.15pm.

A doctor and critical care paramedic were called at 6.22pm and took 29 minutes to arrive at the scene where the patient had suffered minor head injuries.

The Kent Air Ambulance attended and medics assessed the driver, who was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital, Gillingham, by a land crew.

Sheppey firefighters were called at 6.49pm, but were stood down.

Kent Police also attended. A spokesman said no other vehicles were involved in the accident.
