Tesco has reacted angrily after a video was posted on the internet showing two teenagers stripping off in the store and making sexual gestures with products.

The footage, uploaded to video-sharing site YouTube, shows the youths walking and dancing down aisles half naked, while bemused shoppers look on.

The duo use towels and telephones to make sexual gestures before leaving the store and heading onto the nearby Sheerness beach.

According to Tesco manager Emily Knowler, it is not the first time the store has had trouble with near-nude visitors.

She says last year shoppers complained when the same gang stripped down to their undies before running amok at the Bridge Road store.

She said: “To be honest this is a bit of a reoccurrence. This particular group have been here before. The last time the store knew about it prior to a fortnight or so ago was last summer when they did exactly the same thing and it was posted on YouTube then too.

“Clearly it’s a game for them and they appear to find it hilariously funny. Unfortunately that’s the mentality of some of the youths that live in this area. We have had to become very thick-skinned.”

The superstore – which has the slogan 'every little helps’ – has had other problems in the past, with youths hanging around the car park, sometimes late at night.

Ms Knowles added: “We do get some problems with youths hanging about the front of the store. It’s pretty sporadic really, but we have had problems with Friday nights. There is a McDonald’s on our site and we do have a big car park, so if they have cars they will drive around showing off.

“In light of this latest incident, we have mentioned this to our security guards so it’s on their agenda. We will be looking at this footage.”

In the beginning of the latest video, which was posted by an 18-year-old who calls himself CuckooJamz, another lad pulls his trousers down in front of passing cars.

The boys – labelled “idiots” by shoppers this week – then end the three-minute film by again revealing their underwear in front of the Tesco sign.

One shopper, who did not want to be named, said: “It doesn’t surprise me. Some of the kids round here are idiots.”

A Tesco employee, who also asked not to be named, added: “We do get a lot of problems with youths hanging around, but I haven’t heard about anyone taking their clothes off.”
