A group of five friends are putting their manliness to the test as they take part in Movember for charity.
Islanders Mark Almond, Jon Haynes, Paul Cross, Ryan Doherty and Mat Butler are all growing moustaches to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.
They have so far been getting donations from friends and family but they are planning to walk around with collection buckets before they have to shave off the facial fuzz at the end of the month.
This is the first time they have taken part in the event.
Scaffolder Mr Almond, 37, from Rushenden, said: “I’m not the hairiest of people so it has taken me a long time but it is getting there. It’s been quite fun.
“A lot of people are asking me why I’m doing it. Some people like it, some people hate it. I don’t know if I’m going to keep it.
“I was thinking I might trim the edges a bit so I can look like Magnum PI.”
