The Ferry House Inn, Harty, Sheppey

More than 400 years old, it was a former haunt of smugglers who would take advantage of its remote location to escape with their ill-gotten gains.

The Inn is now a popular wedding venue, and boasts gardens, an oak gazebo and children's play area.

Located in the peaceful hamlet of Harty, there are also beautiful views across The Swale to Conyer.

The Sheppey venue scooped the title of Kent Dining Pub of the Year in last year's Taste of Kent Awards.
