A Sittingbourne musician who transformed his life after a suicide attempt, producing a viral music video, has now gained attention from a record label.
Mike Logan Stubbs will be releasing his self-titled album at the end of March and shot a video for new song Dream The Better Days on Monday (February 27) at Big Jam Studios in Sittingbourne.
His first two songs, Pain No More and Persevere, got thousands of hits on Facebook.
Now the 29-year-old has been noticed by Revolver Records, whose past releases include an early single by The Stone Roses.
He said: “I feel absolutely honoured they have shown interest.
“I am currently finishing the last two songs on my self-titled album and I cannot wait to show them what I am capable of.
“One of the songs will feature drums from Lee Murray, the drummer of Let Loose, and the other track will feature vocals from Chris Clancy, who was signed to Road Runner Records, which has Nickelback on the label.”
Call centre adviser Mike linked the record label to his songs online, which collectively have had over 58,000 views.
Calum Richardson from Revolver Records said: “I listened to his music, and I felt that there was something there worth looking into. He sent me a link to Persevere, which showed more of his vocal range and proved to me by the reaction it gathered on Facebook that he’s not just a one-hit wonder.
“Currently, we’re waiting to hear Mike’s finished album before any concrete decisions are made as to whether we’ll distribute it, but things certainly look promising for him." - Revolver Records
"In particular, it’s nice to see the work he’s doing to try and help other people suffering with mental health issues, and that he’s making something positive off the back of his own dark experiences.”
