A thug jailed for a brutal assault is said to have boasted of enjoying life in prison on a social networking site.
A report in a national newspaper claimed Lee Cekic had accessed Facebook from Swaleside Prison, Sheppey.
It stated that in a post earlier this year, Cekic said: “Once I’ve done my morning routine I look around and say to myself 'God don’t like me that much because look where I am', then on the other hand the devil says to me 'this is the life, boy'.
“Five meals a day, free gym membership, no TV licence.”
He is also said to have made reference to the availability of steroids and pornographic magazines, adding: “And you’re still going home in four-and-a-half years’ time. So it was all worth it.”
A Prison Service spokesman said:“It is totally unacceptable for prisoners to access social networking sites or instruct others to do so on their behalf.
"If they break the rules they will be stripped of their privileges.”
Cekic, formerly of Broadstairs, was jailed in May last year after he beat Joe Bath so badly with his fist while holding a key, that his mother did not recognise him.
The victim was twice knocked unconscious and was left for dead with a fractured skull.
The attack, over an argument in a nightclub, led to four members of the same family being jailed at Canterbury Crown Court.
Judge Adele Williams, in sentencing Lee Cekic to a 10-year custodial sentence with five more years on licence, said he would only be released when the authorities thought it safe for him to return to society.
