Pupils at Cheyne Middle School have been visited by a rising star in the R&B music scene.

DJ Ironik visited the school on Tuesday July 1 to coincide with the launch of his new single Stay with Me.

He performed the song to the children and then spent hours signing autographs and talking with the children in a question and answer session.

Ironik, at the age of just 20, has achieved more than two million views on MySpace and YouTube, and the videos to his songs have reached number one on various music channels.

As well as being a producer, Ironik is actually a signed artist to Asylum records and his first single, Stay with Me was released last month.

Paul Evans, assistant head and head of music at the school, said: “Ironik came to the school and had a signed photo and bus pass holder for all of the kids.

“He did a question and answer session with the children and they really enjoyed it. They were very excited about him coming to the school.”
