Police are hunting a robber who got away with a small amount of cash after attacking a security guard inside a town centre bank.

The robbery at HSBC, on the corner of Trinity Road and Broadway, Sheerness, happened at 11.25am today.

Police are appealing for the public's help in catching the raider, who they say was was wearing a grey tracksuit with a hooded top.

He punched the security guard in the face before taking the cash and fleeing the scene. It is believed that the guard works for Securicor.
