Trains were severely disrupted after a signal failure caused delays and cancellations this evening.
The issue at Queenborough railway station meant Southeastern was unable to run services between Sheerness and Sittingbourne.
Network Rail engineers were on site just before 5pm and the fault was fixed around 6pm.
The lines were reopened but passengers were warned to still expect disruption until around 7pm whilst the service recovers.
The first trains to run were at 6.23pm from Sittingbourne heading towards Sheerness and at 6.47pm in the other direction.
As of 7pm, the service had returned to normal and was running on time.

Southeastern said it was working to find rail replacement buses to call at all stations while the line was closed.
