A road had to be closed to traffic while a turntable ladder was used to rescue a patient.
Part of Minster Road on the Isle of Sheppey was shut by police and firefighters while a turntable ladder from Kent Fire and Rescue was used during a medical incident.
A least seven rescue vehicles including three fire engines and support vans were present at the emergency.
A turntable ladder was parked on one side of the road and its ladder used horizontally across the carriageway.
The incident happened this afternoon (Tuesday) near the Costcutter convenience store between the junction with The Broadway and Fleetwood Close.
Eyewitness Steve Harding said: "A fire brigade turntable ladder was on the scene. I think it was allowing medics to access a patient in a difficult location."
Traffic ended up being diverted along Minster Broadway and then Noreen Avenue.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service says it was called at 1pm to help medics from South East Coast Ambulance Service.
A spokeswoman said: "One fire engine and a height vehicle attended as well as the technical rescue unit."
Crews spent about 90 minutes on the site.
Police said: "At 2.20pm we attended Minster Road in Minster-on-Sea to assist South East Coast Ambulance Service with a medical incident. Kent Fire and Rescue Service were also in attendance."
The ambulance service has been asked to comment.
