A man and a teenage girl suspected of burglary and theft were arrested after the car they were travelling in ploughed into a fence.

Police were called to Leysdown Road, Leysdown, at about 4.30pm yesterday.

Officers arrived and found two people in a car that had crashed into a fence, further down the road.

A 17-year-old girl from London and a 42-year-old man of no fixed address were arrested on suspicion of burglary and theft of a motor vehicle.

The man was also arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and making threats.
