Bonfire night is set to go off with a little less of a bang this year in and around Sittingbourne and Sheppey.
Two of the area's biggest annual fireworks displays – at Upchurch and Sheppey Rugby Club – will not be taking place.
In July, it was revealed that Upchurch Scouts would not be hosting an event at Westmoor Farm.
Organisers said the site, just off the A2 between Sittingbourne and Rainham, could no longer be used because the field had been sold for development.
And last week it was confirmed that Sheppey Rugby Club were not going to be holding a display.
Club secretary Jacqui Barham said: "November 2 is the rugby World Cup final! Hence we have some events lined up for our club members."
But she stressed this was not the end for the popular event at the ground off Lower Road, Minster. "Yes, it’ll be back next year," she added.
There are still plenty of places to go to make sure you have a blast this bonfire night.
On Sheppey, this year's Minster's Magical Fireworks will be at Minster Primary School, Brecon Chase, Minster, on Friday, November 1. Entry £5 adults, £3 children and £13 for a family.
The event has been a sell-out in previous years, so book early. Tickets will be on sale via the school office or call 07799 400704. For more, visit the Minster's Magical Fireworks Facebook page.
The Sittingbourne Fireworks Spectacular will be at the Appleyard Sports Bar, Gore Court Road, Sittingbourne from 5.30pm on Sunday, November 3. It is being hosted by the Sporting Tree Foundation. Tickets £7 for adults, £5 for children, free for under twos and £20 for a family.
