Police are still hunting two men in connection with a double stabbing at the Talk of the Town pub at Leysdown on the Isle of Sheppey.
Two men in their 20s were taken to a hospital in London with serious injuries on Saturday night after a fight broke out at the packed seafront pub just after 9pm.
Witnesses said the injured men, who are not believed to have been involved in the fight, were slashed with broken glass. Their injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
Police launched an appeal on Sunday morning for more witnesses to come forward in a bid to track down two men who ran off after the horrific attack. The identities of the two victims have not been released although one is believed to come from Maidstone and is now living in London.
Comments on the Isle of Sheppey Neighbourhood Watch Facebook page were turned off after members began posting graphic descriptions of the incident.
One wrote: “It looked pretty bad. There were two men standing there with blood all over them being cleaned up by ambulance. And there were babies there.”
Talk of the Town landlord Chris Prime said: “The fight broke out in the pub but the stabbing happened outside. They were throwing glasses about without any consideration for families or children.
“Until then it had been a busy night with families dancing to the music. The police were great. There were four or five police cars here. They took it very seriously and spoke to many witnesses. I hope they catch the men responsible.”
The pub opened as usual the following day with live afternoon entertainment from 60s and 70s duo Legends.
Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service treated the injured men at the scene and a doctor from the Kent Air Ambulance was in attendance. Two other men were treated for cuts to their faces but did not need hospital treatment.
A police helicopter was used during the night to search for the men. Police confirmed today that no arrests had been made but inquiries were "ongoing."
