Swale Pride is desperately seeking volunteers to help stage an event this summer.
Spokeswoman Lisa Pullen admitted: "Unfortunately, post-Covid we have hardly any volunteers and are currently unable to secure any funding to put on a one-day event on Sheppey.
"We had hoped to run it on Saturday, August 6, at one of the two Oasis Academy sites at either Minster or Sheerness."
She added: "Our presence in the community is needed more than ever but without support we cannot do the day."
The group was behind a 700-strong rainbow parade and music festival in Faversham in 2019 which featured X Factor finalist Sam Callhan, Sheppey singers Alex Nicole and Elizmi Haze, comedian Pussykat Bangkok and drag act Miss Krystal Ball.
Lisa, from Wards Hill Road, Minster, said: "The organisers of the Faversham Hop Festival and Medway Pride were also suffering from the same situation but since their problem was highlighted they have won backing.
"I have tried many other avenues but so far we have not had any luck. We are now making an urgent appeal for volunteers and funding to support the Swale LGBTQ + community."
