Man serious in hospital after frenzied attack in Warden, Sheppey

A man in his 50s has been seriously injured after a late-night knife attack.

Police and ambulance crews were called to reports of an assault on Jetty Road, Warden, shortly after 10.15pm last night.

The victim, from Leysdown, was stabbed in the chest.

He also suffered injuries to his head and hand, and was taken to King's College Hospital in London for further treatment.

His injuries are not reported to be life-threatening.

A 25-year-old man from Romford, Essex, has been arrested and is currently in custody. It is believed knew the victim.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.
