Sheppey are hoping second-placed Cranbrook will have the travel bug when they visit The Ditch on Saturday in Kent 1.
Head coach Frank Davis believes Cranbrook’s less than convincing away form could give his side a chance of springing a surprise, providing the snow melts from the pitch in time.
Davis said: "We’ve played them a few times over the years and we’ve always put in a good fist of it at home. Away from home they aren’t so good as they don’t travel too well and we’re pinpointing this one.
"We desperately need to get a win and it’s a game we need to put in a good performance."
The pitch was still covered in snow in the middle of the week and Saturday’s game is in doubt.
Sheppey are currently bottom of Kent 1 with one league win from their opening 11 games.
