Pest controllers have be brought in after mice were spotted in a Sheerness Wetherspoon.
The Belle and Lion in Sheerness High Street was closed yesterday afternoon.
A sign put up in the doorway said: "Due to unforeseen circumstances we are closed until further notice."
A spokesman for the chain confirmed it was shut and a pest control team was called.
It was thought to be re-opening this morning but it is not now expected to start serving again until later this afternoon or into the early evening.
A spokesman for Swale council, which is in charge of food hygiene enforcement, said: "We’ve not been involved in the closure of The Belle and Lion in Sheerness.
"Food establishments manage their own hygiene processes and we only step in if these are not handled appropriately.
"In this instance, the pub is acting of its own accord with no involvement from us."
