A woman who lay in a coma for 20 years has died.

Sue Box, who fell into a coma in 1988 after giving birth to her daughter Kirsty, died at Sheppey Community Hospital on Thursday.

The 42-year-old had been suffering from pneumonia.

Her dad, Patrick Lelliott, said: "She had pneumonia and then she faded away.

"She passed away peacefully. We had waited 20 years for it to happen, but it is still a shock."
