A woman had to be airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after being hit by a car in a town centre.
The casualty, who is in her 80s, was struck in Sheerness High Street at 9.50am.
Police and ambulance crews were sent to the scene, near the Rose Cafe and junction with Victoria Street.
Kent Air Ambulance was scrambled and the woman was flown to King’s College Hospital in London.
A police spokesman said: “Officers and ambulance crews attended, and a woman aged in her 80s was taken to a London hospital, where she remains with serious injuries.”
The driver stopped after the collision, the spokesman added.
