MYSTERY surrounds the death of a 37-year-old woman who died after being taken to hospital by the Kent Air Ambulance.

Police officers were called to a house in Alma Road, Sheerness, following a report of concern for the woman. She was taken to Maidstone Hospital but died. Police say she lived in the Sheerness area.

A post mortem examination has been carried out but police are waiting for the results of toxicology tests before they can determine the exact cause of death.
