A wrestling match has helped raise funds for two good causes.
Sheppey’s own UK Pitbull organised the event at Sheerness East Working Men’s Club, Halfway.
It was to raise money for the Oliver Smith Appeal, which is to support the four-year-old from Minster who has the childhood cancer neuroblastoma, and UK Homes 4 Heroes, which raises awareness of the plight of homeless ex-servicemen.
As well as a four-man knockout tournament for the Oliver Smith trophy, there were other matches featuring wrestlers including Mexican Eagle and WWE champion The Phantom.
Altogether it raised £1,250 – £450 will go to the military charity and £800 to Oliver’s appeal, boosting the total to £97,026.
Oliver’s mum Natalie, of Coral Road, said: “A great night was had by all.
“Oliver loved it and even won on the raffle.”
