THE Sheppey Darts Classic will definitely return next year. It will take place over the weekend of June 12-13 and because of the huge success of the inaugural tournament last month, it has been upgraded to a Category 2 competition.

Organiser Tony Cox said: “It means we will get a lot more professional players as it will go into the Professional Darts Corporation diary and the prize fund will be a staggering £8,000.

“We have already started preparations and if anybody would like to come aboard as helpers or sponsors we would like to hear from them now because we don’t want it to be a last minute rush.”
