Boss Allan eyes premier division place

AFC Sheppey player-manager Jamie Allan says the club will fulfil a dream if they beat Stansfeld O&B Club in Saturday’s promotion play-off to reach the British Energy Kent County League’s Premier Division.

Sheppey, runners-up in Division 1 East, face the Division 1 West runners-up at Phoenix Sports ground in Bexleyheath for the right to play in the top flight next season.

Allan admitted: “We didn’t have the commitment last year that we have now. That’s the essential difference.

“We have players giving up a day’s pay to play on Saturday. That wouldn’t have happened before.”
