The Dart 18 Travellers Trophy is heading to the Isle of Sheppey for the fourth GP of a six-round series.
Dan Norman and Chris Goymer will be leading the home charge in the Sheppey waters, having finished second and third respectively during GP3 in Devon last month.
Goymer, with crew Jenni Donovan, had previously won GP2 at the Mumbles Sailing Club and the in-form pair started off with a second place in GP1 at Dee back in April.
Competition will be coming from crews from as far afield as the West Country, Liverpool and Worthing in the six-race weekend. But all eyes will be on the weather.
“We’ve got our fingers crossed now,” said the Isle of Sheppey Sailing Club commodore Tim Harris.
“If it’s too windy it can blow the whole event out but a good forecast means we’ll have plenty of people coming.”
Norman, the 2007 world champion, missed out last time the TT was in Sheppey as his wife went into labour on the eve of competition. He will be out on the water to challenge team-mate Goymer and others for honours.
Those wishing to watch can get a good view from outside the clubhouse, on Minster Broadway, where refreshments will be available. Racing, a mile off-shore, is on Saturday from 1pm and Sunday from 10.30am.
