A bumper crowd of 734 witnessed Sheppey stage an incredible comeback to defeat Southern Counties East title rivals Chatham 3-2 on Saturday.
A Jack Evans spot-kick and a Charlie Dickens header put Chats 2-0 ahead in 38 minutes at Holm Park and it actually needed two magnificent saves by Sheppey keeper Adam Molloy not to see the visitors out of sight.
Jack Midson's far-post finish midway through the second half got Sheppey back in the game and Ben Wilson turned in the equaliser eight minutes from time.
Michael Hagan then turned in the winner from close range after Chatham keeper Henry Newcombe failed to hold a long-range shot.
The win puts Sheppey level on points with leaders Glebe, who dropped points for the first time this season in a 2-2 draw at Kennington.
Charlie Penney and Helge Orome put Glebe 2-0 ahead inside the first 14 minutes but Robbie Dolan and Liam Middleton had Ton back on level terms by the break.
Newly-promoted Holmesdale are up to fourth following a 3-1 home defeat of Bearsted. Owen Punselie (2) and Nathan Palmer outscoring Harry Hatfull.
Erith Town played the entire second half with 10 men but still ran out 2-1 winners at Deal.
Danny Phillips saw red for retaliation just before half-time and Alfie Foster headed Deal into the lead.
But Steadman Callender equalised from the penalty spot within a minute after being fouled by the keeper and then Harry Gamble scored the winner from 20 yards.
George Goodwin's late equaliser helped Punjab United claim a 2-2 draw at home to Rusthall, who led through second half goals from Tom Lawrence and Reuel Powell-Downey. Fabrice Mbola had given Punjab a first-half lead.
