Lyn Gosney is holding an open house with a difference this Saturday.
Visitors can look around her Celtic-themed Caer Corhrain round house at Southleas Farm Cottages off the Lower Road at Minster, Sheppey, sample a sweat lodge, try to play a didgeridoo and learn to make drums.
Proceeds will go towards charities helping with Parkinson’s Disease.
Lynn said: “Both my father and uncle suffered from Parkinson’s so it is close to my heart. Yet Parkinson’s is one of the least-funded charities in terms of research.”
She added: “The round house is nothing to do with religion but it illustrates an alternative lifestyle which encourages and empowers people to love and support each other.
“Visitors will be able to learn about the eight Celtic ceremonies, study plant lore, experience Indian head massage and Shamanic healing, take part in taster workshops on drum-making, how to play the didgeridoo and learn the secrets of mantra meditation.”
He family and friends will also be playing music.
Caer Corhrain is at 1 Southleas Farm Cottages, ME12 3SW off the Lower Road near Scocles Road. Parking is limited. For details call 01795 874542. The event runs from noon to 6pm.
