A cricketer is celebrating half-a-century of playing at the same club.
Lance Morgan, 62, was presented with a mascot-inspired porcelain duck by fellow players and members of Newington Cricket Club during a special celebration.
The player, who has already taken 30 wickets this season, was also given a new bat after his was stolen during a club tour to Spain.
Lance’s ties to Newington stretch back more than 50 years as his father Mick was a club chairman and player.
Ten years ago, Newington started awarding the Mick Morgan Cup to the year’s most dedicated member.
Lance said: “I’m delighted I’m still playing because a lot of people pack it in much earlier. I will play as long as I can make a contribution. I know several people in their 70s still going – that’s my ambition.”
