A couple who threw their big day open to companies in a bid to get wed for free have finally said ‘I do’.
Stacy Webb, 30, and husband Daniel, 28, got hitched in front of family and friends at Bobbing church.
They were then whisked off by All Kent Wedding Cars to the reception venue - The Coniston Hotel in London Road, Sittingbourne - where there was arrival drinks, a glass of bubbly to toast the love birds and a buffet meal.
A disco was also provided in the evening so people could dance the night away.
Bella Diamond in London donated the rings while photographer Ellen King from Chatham was on hand to capture every moment of the red-and-black themed event.
A total of 80 cupcakes were supplied by Sugar Darling Cakes, which is based in Thanet, for guests to tuck into and wedding planner Julie Finlay from West Malling was there every step of the way to help make the run up to their big day as stress free as possible.
The businesses all offered their services after the cash-strapped couple appealed to businesses to help cover the cost back in April.
The mum-of-one told how she had already bought her wedding dress and two bridesmaids’ outfits in anticipation of booking their nuptials this year but the rising costs meant they had to put their plans on hold.
They even moved into Stacy’s mum’s home in Barrow Grove, Sittingbourne, in a bid to save money.
"It was amazing. It went by so fast. We wouldn’t have been able to afford to do it ourselves" - Stacy Webb
While no florists stepped forward to offer their services, Daniel’s mum Alison covered the cost and one of Stacy’s friends made the cutting cake as a wedding gift.
In all the couple estimate they only spent £800 out of their own pocket on things such as suit hire, invites, church fees, a small charge for the wedding cars and favours.
Mrs Webb said: “It was amazing. It went by so fast.
“We wouldn’t have been able to afford to do it ourselves.
“We had a table with all the business cards of everyone that sponsored us, they were also named on the back of the order of service and in the invites.
“We’re both on a bit of high and just really happy. We’d just like to say a massive thank you to all those involved, especially the paper.”
