The closure of a major road has been lifted a day early.
The A2 at Bobbing, near Sittingbourne, was shut at Keycol Hill between the junctions of Rook Lane and Ladyfields Close for UK Power Networks and Southern Water roadworks.
The work started on Sunday, August 6 and was due to take place until Friday, August 11.
However, both companies finished work on the site ahead of schedule.
In a joint statement, a spokesman said: “We have removed the road closure, which was in place while UK Power Networks and Southern Water provided new utility connections, a day early.
“While traffic restrictions were due to remain in place for up to five days from August 6 to 10, we always aim to complete our works quicker where possible to minimise the impact of roadworks.”
Engineers from UK Power Networks installed a new electricity cable connection for homes.
While they closed the road Southern Water also carried out work at the site.
UK Power Networks’ said: “Wherever possible, we aim to collaborate with others to minimise the impact of roadworks, and, in this case, we worked with Southern Water to reduce disruption by ensuring both companies complete their works within the same permit period, rather than excavate the road separately on different dates.£
