The funeral of paramedic Rhod Prosser
Mr Prosser, who died aged 27 on Sunday, April 12, had been living with lung cancer.
His death was not related to the coronavirus.
He met his partner Hannah Webster, 25, at the University of Greenwich.
Rhod had been planning to propose to Hannah, who is also a paramedic.
A fundraising page was set up in his memory to raise money for Cancer Research UK, which originally had a £5,000.
More than 100 paramedics lined St Michael’s Road, Sittingbourne, this afternoon to say a moving goodbye to their colleague.
The scene inspired passing motorists to stop and park and applaud as the funeral car drove through the heart of Sittingbourne towards the Garden of England Crematorium in Bobbing.
The air ambulance was also seen hovering overhead.
A brief moment of silence took place once the car had driven through the crowd.
Tributes on the coffin included an ambulance made out of flowers.
South East Coast Ambulance operating unit manager Will Bellamy said: “Rhod was a much-loved and respected paramedic who will be very much missed.
"I am pleased that so many of Rhod’s colleagues were able to pay their respects as the cortege passed.
"It is incredibly sad that Rhod lost his battle with cancer at such a young age and our thoughts are with Rhod’s partner, Hannah, also a member of the SECAmb family, as well as his family and friends at this difficult time.”
Rhod leaves brothers Will, Dave and sister Annie as well as his mum Carrie and step-dad Keith.
