Appeal after fatal crash on M2

POLICE are trying to establish whether a driver who died when a camper van overturned on the M2 suffered from a medical problem before the vehicle left the road.

The driver was a 63-year-old man from Herne Bay who has not yet been named. His passsenger, a 57-year-old woman, was treated in hospital for minor injuries.

The white Fiat Ducato lost control on the London-bound carriageway just before junction 5 (the A249 exit for Sittingbourne and Maidstone) at around noon on Thursday, November 24.

Anyone who witnessed the incident is urged to contact Kent Police on 01622 600970.

The accident caused a seven-mile traffic tailback. A dog was recovered from the vehicle safe and sound.
