A burst water main was causing chaos outside a town police station, post office and library.

A fountain could be seen spurting from the road yesterday morning in Central Avenue, Sittingbourne.

Melissa Hood captured the leak at about 11.20am on Friday, April 28.

She confirmed Southern Water were at the scene. The company has been approached for comment.

Sittingbourne Libary confirmed their facilities hadn’t been caught up in the incident and the burst main appeared to be back under control today.

There were also reports of another leak further along Central Avenue by the High Street, near the war memorial.
