A charity football match and fun day organised by the John Graham Trust at Blean has helped the organisation take another step towards its plans for a £60,000 all-weather pitch.

The trust, which provides activities for adults with learning difficulties, now has almost £25,000 in the kitty following last month's All Together Now event, which raised about £7,000.

More than 2,000 supporters and families were in the stands at Sittingbourne’s Central Park Stadium, with a Gillingham FC legends side and Bredhurst Juniors FC All Stars taking to the field.

The centre in Blean, which caters for up to 70 clients every day, plans to make the new pitch available to other groups and for community use.

More than £25,000 has been raised towards the target.
