Clean-up operation begins after vehicle drops oil on Sheppey Way, Bobbing

A clean-up operation has begun after a vehicle dropped litres of oil.

The spillage took place on the Sheppey Way, Bobbing, near Axminster and the Dancing Dog Saloon at about 11am.

One eyewitness said the liquid seems to have come from a telescopic handler, which is used in agriculture and industry.

A police spokesman confirmed they are helping in the effort to get the road cleared.

Oil has been spilt on the Sheppey Way in Bobbing

He said: "We were called to a report a large amount of oil had spilled in Bobbing after a vehicle sustained an engine issue.

"Officers are in attendance and are providing assistance to the highways authority, who are clearing the spill."

Kent Highways has been contacted for comment.
