A converted barn has been completely destroyed in a huge blaze which took firefighters four hours to put out.
The fire broke out in the detached building off Lower Road, Teynham, at 4.21am today.
Firefighters from Faversham and Teynham were at the scene as well as a water unit from Ashford fire station.
The two-storey barn was being renovated and a family of three, including a young boy, were in a mobile home next to the building when the fire broke out. An ambulance was called to the scene but no one was injured.
Firefighters also worked to save four vehicles which were down-wind of the fire and the power supply had to be isolated.
The fire is being investigated but because the building was destroyed, it is not known where the fire broke out.
The family was left in the care of the Red Cross victim support unit.
Firefighters were on the scene until about 8.10am.
Watch manager at Faversham fire station, Peter Campbell, said: “The whole building was engulfed when we arrived.”
