Rush hour traffic using the A249 was been hit by long delays this evening.

The southbound carriageway was blocked at Stockbury by a crash involving two vehicles, one of which has reportedly been left on its roof.

Part of the A249 is currently closed. Stock picture.

Emergency services are on the scene.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "We were called at 4.44pm on Friday 1 December to a two-vehicle collision on the A249 in Stockbury.

"Officers are at the scene alongside the South East Coast Ambulance Service. No injuries have been reported and a lane closure is currently in place."

The northbound carriageway was also partially blocked by a broken down vehicle at Castle Hill, near the White Horse Wood turn off, causing queues back down Detling Hill.
