A man suspected to have been murdered under Rochester Bridge was stabbed, it has been confirmed.

Peter Beale, of Sittingbourne, was found dead on the Rochester side of the High Street bridge on Tuesday morning, and six people have since been arrested in connection with his death.

Friends of Mr Beale, who had a wife, Esther, and two children, have now launched a GoFundMe page to help raise £5,000 for his funeral.

The page, set up by Vicki Beaney, describes the attack suffered by the 39-year-old father as "brutal and unexpected".
