Motorists are facing delays after planned roadworks shut part of the M2.

National Highways has closed the coast-bound stretch of the motorway between Junction 5 for Sittingbourne and Maidstone and Junction 7 for Faversham and Brenley Corner this weekend.

Structural works mean the 15-mile stretch of the motorway is shut for coast-bound traffic.

The roadworks began at 8pm yesterday (Friday) and are set to finish at 6am on Monday.

There have been some knock-on delays for drivers as a result of the works, including on the A2 through Sittingbourne and Faversham.
