There were delays on the M2 following a crash reportedly involving several vehicles.

It happened on the coastbound carriageway between junctions 5 and 6 at around 11.40am.

Traffic was held for a time between the junctions for Sittingbourne and Maidstone while emergency services were at the scene.

It is not known if anyone has been injured but other drivers were told to expect disruption.

Highways bosses say the incident was cleared after around an hour.

Further down the motorway there is also slow traffic as lorries are prevented from heading to the Port of Dover.

Any that have tried to avoid Operation Brock on the M20, which is being used to queue freight, are being turned around at junction 7 (Brenley Corner).
