A "low life" riding an E-scooter has been caught on CCTV stealing a cat's kennel from a family garden.

The pet's home was taken from outside a home in Laxton Way, near North Road, Sittingbourne, at around 3.45am on Wednesday morning.

In footage of the theft you can see a man in shorts and white trainers parking the scooter up before disappearing from shot and coming back with an outdoor kennel.

He then rides off out of shot with the kennel on his scooter.

Marc Palmerton, who caught the theft on camera, slammed the "low life" for leaving a 16-year-old cat without any outdoor coverage.

He said: "Some low life on an electric scooter stole a cat kennel from the front garden last night at around 3:45am.

"The kennel was right by the house, not in a position for it be taken by mistake. It even had a concrete slab on top.

"The cat now does not have a bed for when they are outside."

While Frank the cat's owner, Marc's mother-in-law Tracey Miller, added: "It's laughable really.

"It's funny that someone would be so sad to steal a makeshift kennel.

"My daughter was staying at my home that night and heard a sound which woke her up at around 3.30am but didn't think anything of it.

"When she went to feed Frank the concrete slab was on a flower bed and the kennel was gone.

"If he had asked I would of shown him how to make one, instead I have a 16-year-old cat with no night house."

Tracey said Frank is an outdoor cat and hates coming inside, except on the odd occasion for a stroke or to warm up, and has been left without a bed for a couple of days now.

She added: "They must have really liked it as they went up my drive directly under my window and had to move a heavy slab.

"So there was a lot of time and work put into stealing it."

Police were not contacted about the theft.
