Are these Kent's best-selling outfits?

Hundreds of people turned out dressed as jolly old St Nick for an annual fun run.

Milton Creek Country Park in Milton played host to the festive 5k, as members from 17 running clubs around Kent joined in.

It was organised by Beginners2Runners, with adults and children of all ages and abilities to take part.

Some 200 people participated and were given a Father Christmas or elf suit, mince pie, bottle of water and medal as part of the entry fee.

There was even a blizzard of fake snow to navigate.

Beginners2Runners operations manager, Jackie Wells, said: “It was fantastic, everyone really enjoyed it.

“They were all provided with costumes. The weather was better than the rain we had before the race started.

“We were a bit worried because it was pouring it down as we were setting off but it brightened up later.

“We’ve got a number of clubs around Kent and Sittingbourne’s has newly opened so we thought it’d be a good time to have it at Milton Creek.

"There was a choice of a snowflake or Father Christmas finishing medal.

“The children were really cute dressed in their elf costumes.

“We had people from Ashford, Maidstone, Orpington and Canterbury come to take part.”

Finishing times ranged from 20 minutes to about an hour. Children were then able to meet Father Christmas to see if they were on the naughty or nice list.

Representatives from the crisis support charity Samaritans were also there to collect donations.
