Kitchen fire at Landrail Road, Lower Halstow

Firefighters tackled a blaze which broke out in a kitchen last night.

Kent Fire and Rescue Service crews were called to reports of the incident at a house on Landrail Road, Lower Halstow, near Sittingbourne, at about 5.30pm.

Two fire engines attended and crews wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel jets to extinguish the flames and a high-pressured fan to ventilate the property.

No injuries were reported and the cause of the blaze is not yet known.

The service says its volunteer response team also attended to provide support to the affected residents.
