A girl has been taken to Medway Maritime Hospital after being hit by a car.

An ambulance service spokesman said crews were called to Attlee Way, Milton Regis, following the incident shortly before 3.30pm.

It is understood the child is about 10-years-old and was on her way home from school.

The spokesman said: "One ambulance crew attended and the patient is now on her way to Medway Maritime Hospital with injuries including an ankle injury."
