The CEO of a children's hospice charity is leaving after six years.

Ryan Campbell will leave Demelza Hospice Care for Children, which has a site Sittingbourne, in May.

Announcing Mr Campbell's departure, David Highton, chair of the board of trustees said: “Ryan has personally invested time in ensuring he considers the perspectives of staff and volunteers across the organisation and has greatly impacted the positive culture that is so evident at Demelza.

"Ryan will leave Demelza in excellent shape to allow us to mould our strategic direction to best meet the future needs of the children, young people and families.

“I am pleased to advise that Lavinia Jarrett, deputy chief executive, has agreed to take on the role of acting chief executive during the transitional period until a new permanent appointment can be made later this year.”

As well as a hospice in Sittingbourne, Demelza also has sites in south east London and east Sussex.

Mr Campbell has been appointed as the new chief executive at The Treloar Trust, a charity which runs a residential school, college and other support for physically disabled students, based in Alton in Hampshire.

A spokesman for Demelza said: "We would like to take the opportunity to thank Ryan for everything he has done and wish him the best of luck in his next role."
